1, 800 intending pilgrims to perform 2019 Hajj from Zamfara—official

The Zamfara state Hajj Commission has registered 1,800 intending pilgrims in the state for 2019 Hajj, an official has said.

The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Abubakar S-Pawa who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Gusau on Monday, said the commission had already secured Visa for 1, 400 intending pilgrims,

“The remaining 400 of our pilgrims will soon get their Visa anytime from now”, he said.

According to him, the Commission had already concluded arrangements to commence the airlift of the pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

“Inshallah, we will begin airlift of our pilgrims from Sultan Abubakar lll, International Airport Sokoto to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, July 17.

“I am using this opportunity to call on the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and Nigeria”, he said.

He cautioned them to avoid taking prohibited stems to Saudi Arabia as the Saudi authorities would not spare anyone caught violating the laws of the country.

He urged them to use the period to pray for peace and stability in Zamfara and Nigeria at large.
