1,528 pilgrims depart Abuja, other states for S/Arabia — NAHCON

No fewer than 1,528 Muslim pilgrims have been transported from Abuja, Ilorin and Birnin Kebbi airports to Saudi Arabia for this year’s hajj, as at July 14.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 1,529 pilgrims had so far been transported to Saudi Arabia from Kano, Lagos and Kaduna airports for this year’s hajj.

NAN also reports that NAHCON had earlier sent advance team of its officials to receive the intending pilgrims from Nigeria.

The officials would be responsible for receiving pilgrims at Medina and Jeddah airports, and will also supervise their feeding, bedding in various accommodations, security, transportation, enlightenment and general monitoring.
