Expo

Abuja, April 11, 2019 The Minister of Communications, Dr Adebayo Shittu, says that massive participation by

key stakeholders and youths is critical for a successful and memorable 2019 Information Communication and Telecommunication (ICTEL) Expo.

Shittu said this when Mr Leye Kupoluyi, the Chairman, Specialised Exhibition Committee of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)

visited him in his office on Thursday in Abuja.

He urged the LCCI to carry along key stakeholders in the Information Communication Technology sector for a successful ICTEL Expo in 2019.

The ICTEL Expo is a professional trade show organised by the LCCI where Africa’s biggest stakeholders in ICT exhibit new technologies.

The 2019 edition of the two-day event is scheduled for July 16 and 17 in Lagos.

The minister, therefore, urged LCCI to “reach out to the largest number of end products users that will grow the industry to achieve the ultimate success.

“I was privileged to have witnessed two previous expos, and I hope stakeholders and pressmen would be carried along for the ultimate achievement

of the set goals.”

Shittu commended the LCCI for commitment in driving commerce and trade in the country, in line with the fourth industrial revolution

on global vision for ICT growth.

Earlier, Kupoluyi, while commending the ministry for its support, noted that the 2019 ICTEL Expo would concentrate on women and youths in technology.

According to him, this year’s expo will focus on “The Nigerian Story’’ which is being told worldwide, and the need to refocus on the development

of human knowledge which the ministry has been promoting through ICT.
