A Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja, on Friday ordered that a 24-year-old man, who confessed to stealing a bag valued at N120,000, be remanded in prison pending sentencing.

The police arraigned Ali, who resides in Daki Biyu village, Jabi Abuja, with theft.

Ali pleaded guilty to charge.

The Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, adjourned the case until June 3, for sentencing.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that one Justice Sincair , of Jabi Garage Abuja, reported the incident at the Utako Police Station on May 13.

Ukagha said that on May 9, at about 3 a.m., Ali and others at large, criminally and intentionally trespassed into the complainant’s room and stole his a containing his cloths valued at N120, 000.

She told the court that Ali was arrested wearing one of the complainant’s trousers.

Ukagha alleged that during police investigation and interrogation, the defendant admitted to committing the offence.

The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of Sections 288 of the Penal Code.
