Twenty-five-year-old Abubakar Abdulahi on Wednesday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly assaulting another man.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of assault and threat to life.
When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Mary Ajiteru, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 14 around 7:40 p.m. at Sabo area in Ikorodu.
Ajiteru alleged that the defendant assaulted one Mr Goddey Dike, whom he allegedly stabbed on the head with a knife, thus causing him bodily harm.
She told the court that the defendant also threatened the life of one Alhaji Alhassan Dauda with a knife.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 173 and 232 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The Magistrate, Mr O.M Dawodu, granted the defendant bail with N80, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
He later adjourned the case to June 27 for mention.
