The Niger government on Wednesday said it had approved N316.8 million to empower 400 youths with skills, toward tackling youth restiveness in the state.
Alhaji Samaila Ibrahim, the state commissioner for Youths Development made this known during a press briefing in Minna.
“The state government will train 400 youths in the areas of plastic building and fabrication of save stove at the cost of N316.8 million,” he said.
Ibrahim said that the training would start soon with a pilot scheme of 50 beneficiaries.
He said that the training of the 50 beneficiaries would gulp N38.1 million.
The Commissioner said that after a successful pilot scheme, 1, 000 youths would be trained subsequently in the exercise, annually.
