Burna Boy performs on Trevor Noah’s show

Published

on

Afro-fusion star, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy pulled stunning performance on global comedy show ‘The Daily Show’.

‘The Daily Show’ is an American late-night talk show that piques on satire and self-deprecatory humour to discuss socially and culturally relevant stories.

The show is currently hosted by South African comedian, Trevor Noah and has won 24 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Burna Boy, on Tuesday night, appeared alongside Mark Sanford, a former US representative and former Governor of South Carolina.

Nigeria News Agency reports that the ‘African Giant’ performed hit tracks ‘Ye’ and ‘Anybody’, eliciting loud cheers from the audience.

He was dressed in a multicolored striped outfit, a pair of glasses and a neck full of diamonds while rocking his signature braids.

In an interview with Noah, Burna Boy explained the reasons for his outburst over the Coachella poster in January.

The incident, which birthed the ‘African Giant’ moniker, saw Burna Boy accuse Coachella of disrespecting him by writing his name in small fonts.

Explaining the situation to Noah, he said, “I am looking for my name and I can’t find my name. I am like – am I really performing?

“They had to circle it for me. That’s never happened to me before. I am used to being the African giant.

“I didn’t like it and I expressed myself. Not just for that but so, everyone that comes after me won’t have to go through that,” he said.

Trevor Noah noted that people might not understand Burna Boy’s huge influence as an artist in Nigeria and in Africa, the continent with one of the world’s largest population.

NAN reports that in July, Burna Boy released an album titled ‘African Giant’, referencing the Coachella incidence. It was premiered on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.

The 19-track album contains his biggest 2019 hits including ‘Killin Dem’ featuring Zlatan, ‘Anybody’ and ‘Dangote’ alongside a titular track ‘African Giant’ and several international collaborations.

Amongst the artists featured were Jorja Smith in ‘Gum Body’, Manifest in ‘Another Story’, Jeremih and Serani in ‘Secrets’.

Damian Marley and Angelique Kidjo in ‘Different’, Future in ‘Show and Tell’ and YG in ‘This Side’ were also featured.

Ex-Big BBNaija (S4) housemate reveals reasons for not having relationship while in show

Published

on

Jeff Nweke, who was recently evicted from the Big Brother Naija house opened up about his personal life.

Nweke revealed this to Nigeria News Agency in Lagos, on Monday.

He said that one can’t have a real relationship in Big Brother Naija house because housemates tend not to show their true characters.

“Its a game and everyone has a strategy, so you can’t play yourself by trying to decipher someone’s true character within that space of time.

“I chose to stay on my own and not try to get attached to any lady in the house because I wanted to be focused, ” he said.

Nweke also addressed rumors that he is married.

He said that, if he was married, the whole world would know. That he was not the type that hide his relationship.

He shared his thoughts about Khafi and Gedoni who already have a relationship in the house.

The Ex-housemate said he felt what they shared was real because he could see the connection they had.

“Khafi is open hearted, she expresses herself to everyone and she’s very accommodating. When she feels strongly about you she exudes that.

“Gedoni on the other hand is the quiet type and not the type that expresses himself, so I would say he’s the opposite of Khafi.

“They were always together, shared the same space and talked a lot, maybe that’s the reason they fell for each other, “ he said. .
