Adamawa Govt allocates 200 hectares of land for cocoa production



Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has approved the allocation of 200 hectares of land for Cocoa revamping and production in the state.
The Nigeria News Agency reports that Adamawa is among the Cocoa producing states in Nigeria.
Mrs Felicia Nzomisaki, the Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Agriculture, disclosed this known in an interview with NAN on Wednesday in Yola.
Nzomisaki said the governor had also approved funds for the ministry to carry out renovation and demonstration of the Cocoa farms.
“Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri has approved and allocated 200 hectares of land for Cocoa Pilot farm production in Toungo and Ganye Local Government Areas.
“And each local government has been allocated with 100 hectares for the Cocoa plantation,” Nzomisaki said.
In addition, she said the state government has purchased 6,000 Cocoa pots from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the seedlings had started arriving in the state.
, we hope to start the proper land preparations for the Cocoa plantation in Toungo and Ganye LGAs,” Nzomisaki said.
She said the state government was opened for partnership in Cocoa production. (NAN)
