Adamawa Speaker promises good working relationship with executive

The Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly, Mr Aminu Abbas, has given assurance that the legislative and the executive would work together for the development of the state.

Abbas gave the assurance at the Government House, Yola on Thursday while speaking with newsmen.

He said his visit was to register his support to Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri.

‘‘I visited the governor, we discussed and I assured him that we are going to work together even though we are two independent bodies.

‘‘But we will do our best to see that all the governor’s policies that would benefit the people of the state are implemented,’’ Abbas said.

He said that he and his deputy were elected unopposed because the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) did not meet the required number to challenge them.

Abbas promised that the 9th assembly would do all it could to make meaningful laws that would benefit the people of the state.

Adamawa assembly has 25 members out of which 13 are PDP, 11 APC and one African Democratic Congress (ADC).
