Sunday, 24, who resides in Ogolonto community in Ikorodu, near Lagos is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Mr Victor Eruada, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some other persons still at large on March 7 at 5.a.m. in Adekoya Street, Oshodi, Lagos.
Eruada said the defendant robbed one Mrs Bukola Adeleke of her valuables with a pistol.
“The complainant was at the bus-stop waiting for a bus that will transport her to Mushin when she was attacked.”
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 297 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Section 297 stipulates a three-year jail term for stealing, while Section 411 provides two years imprisonment for conspiracy.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties should show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and adjourned the case until May 30.
