Anambra Security Cup: Police, NSCDC clash in final tie



The Nigeria Police Football Team and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) will lock horns on May 23 at the finals of the maiden Anambra Security Challenge Football competition.

The Police team edged out their counterparts from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) with an emphatic 3-0 win in the first semi-final match played at the Paul University Football Field in Awka.

In the second semi-final match played at the Government Technical School, Awka, NSCDC football team eliminated the Nigeria Immigration team with 6-5 on penalties.

The match had ended one goal apiece during the regulation time before going into penalties.

The two teams, Police and NSCDC would battle for the coveted cup at a yet to be determined venue.

The competition kicked off on April 16 with six teams namely, Department of State Services, Nigerian Prisons, FRSC, NSCDC, Police and Immigration vying for honours.
