An All Progressives Party(APC) Stalwart in Katsina State, Alhaji Babangida Yardaje, has donated a Honda civic vehicle and five new motorcycles to some selected members of the party in the area to boost their morale.
Yardaje, who hails from Zango Local Government Area of Katsina State, gave the gifts worth N2.3 million.
He made the donation to the beneficiaries when he addressed the party members during a stakeholders meeting in Zango on Monday.
According to him, he will in due course expand the scope of the gesture to accommodate more committed party members.
Yardaje said the donation was aimed at empowering beneficiaries as well as to spur them to redouble the sacrifices and their commitments toward promoting the ideals and manifesto of the party in the area and beyond.
He said the donations were from his personal money as a businessman and a determined party member whose aim and ambition was to encourage party members who contributed immensely to the success of the party.
He said he was happy with their efforts in the general elections conducted between 2015 and 2019.
Yardaje assured that APC as the ruling party would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the area and the nation.
He said, it was a glaring reality that president Muhammadu Buhari was presently busy fixing the nation’s decayed infrastructure such as roads, railways, and revolutionising the agricultural sector.
Adding that, thousands of farmers who keyed into the anchor borrower agricultural scheme had become millionaires and full time entrepreneurs.
In his remarks, Malam Shitu Masalaha, the state APC chairman, who was represented by the zonal vice chairman in the area, Malam Usman Ado-Oc,commended the donor for sacrificing some part of his personal wealth to encourage party members.
Masalaha thanked him for putting smiles on their faces through the donation of vehicle and motorcycles.
He called on the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items and urged other party members who had the means to emulate the gesture.
According to him, such philanthropic approach will generate employment for the beneficiaries and provide productive and sustainable life for them.
One of the beneficiaries who got the car gift, Malam Murtala Na-Adda, lauded the efforts of the senior party member and assured that they would use the donation wisely and judiciously.
The News Agency of Nigeria earlier reported that Yardaje had in July 2018 donated three tokumbo Honda civic vehicles to some party members.
