A group in Kogi chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has called on the people of the state to support the second term ambition of Gov. Yahaya Bello.

The group , Progressives Youth Mandate Of Nigeria ( PYMN), made the calll in Lokoja on Wednessady during a news conference  by its National Coordinator, Mr Marvel Odiedi.

He noted that supporting Bello for a second term in office would enable him complete the transformation agenda of his administration.

Odiedi said that the group decided to support the governor’s second term bid after extensive consultations with critical stakeholders, saying that the resolve to support Bello was total.

He said that the mission of the PYMN was to inspire and raise a new generation of youthful and responsible leaders that would take the state to the next level.

” As the governorship primary election of APC draws closer, it has become important to raise the consciousness of delegates so that they can give maximum support to Gov. Yahaya Bello.

“We want to affirm to the general public that Yahaya Bello deserves another term in office, following his unprecedented developments recorded in the state from 2016 till date,” he said.

The national coordinato also  said that group’s support for the governor was hinged on its belief in the ability of youths and Bello’sresolve to give them the opportunity to serve in his government.

“It is on record that before the ‘Not Too Young To Run Bill’ was drafted and passed into law, Bello had already filled his cabinet with young men and women, thereby making Kogi the most youth-friendly state in Nigeria.

“Similarly, our support for Yahaya Bello is hinged on the fact that Kogi is among the few states in Nigeria that have not taken any loan for the integrated development of the state which cuts across the three senatorial districts.”

The group hailed the governor’s civil service reforms, his leadership skills and managerial acumen which it said he brought to bear on tne day-to-day performance of his duty as the governor.
