Mallam Muhammad Abdullahi, the spokesman of the board made this disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi on Monday.
Abdullahi added that the programme was a continuous process as it was expected to cover all existing schools, saying ‘we will intensify efforts on the green wall revolution in our schools’.
“Those gardens are to be maintained by the school authorities,” he said.
In a related development, Abdullahi noted that the board had also spent N19million to promote sports development in schools, adding “we procured recreational and other sporting facilities for the schools”.
NAN reports that the Bauchi Universal Basic Education Board has in the last one year, spent billions of naira on construction of schools, renovation and provision of furniture.
