Cleric urges Christians to be truthful, courageous

Rev. Johnny Onyeizu of Rock Family Church, Enugu has urged Christians to always strive to be truthful and courageous in their dealings to attract God’s deliverance and mercies.

Onyeizu, who gave the advice during his sermon on Sunday in Enugu, said that a genuine Christian, who aspires to be part of God’s Kingdom should be a truthful person and be bold in speaking out the truth.

Onyeizu added that boldness or courageousness did not mean to be arrogant, but to imbibe humility.

The cleric, who took his sermon from the Act of Apostle chapter 9 verses 26 to 31, used Barnabas as an example of truthfulness and courageousness.

He added that Barnabas was the only one, who was courageous enough to present Paul to the Jerusalem Church after his (Paul) conversion as the Church was afraid to accept him.

“Barnabas truthfully and courageously vouched for Paul when the Jerusalem church was suspicious that a former persecutor would want to join them after his (Paul) conversion,” he said.

He urged Christians to emulate Barnabas, who was an embodiment of integrity and character so as to attract more blessings from God.
