Company director faces N59.9m theft charge



at 6.00p.m. at No. 232, Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos.

Molo said that the defendant stole 41 metric tonnes of Orgal and Barmocol chemicals worth N59.9 million.

The prosecutor said that the chemicals belonged  Daniel Nig. Ltd.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

The Nigeria News Agency reports that section 287 (7) provides for 10 years’ imprisonment for stealing from one’s employer, while section 411 provides two years’ jail term for conspiracy.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. O. Oshin, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Oshin adjourned the case until March 9 for mention.
