Mr Amos Tsaku, Overseer of Agidi Development Area of Nasarawa State, has warned workers against indiscipline and misconduct on their jobs.

Tsaku gave the warning on Thursday at Agidi while addressing departmental directors and staff members of the council.

He said that the warning became necessary for the council workers so that they could wake up to their responsibilities.

He also advised the workers to shun absenteeism and other sharp practices capable of affecting their productivity.

“The council will not and will never tolerate any act of absenteeism, lateness to duties and other sharp practices in the interest of development,’’ he said.

He added that the council would deal decisively with any staff found engaging in sharp practices to serve as deterrent to others.

“The aim of this meeting is to discuss with you on how to move this area to greater height.

“I want to call on all of you to be productive, dedicated to duty, show more commitment to duties and hard work for the overall development of our area and the state at large.

“You are to shun absenteeism and to shun all acts that are detrimental to the progress and development of the area,’’ he said.

Tsaku also enjoined the workers to support the new administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to enable him succeed in the task ahead of him.

The council boss restated his commitment to initiate good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the people.

Responding, Mr Jacob Chakpe, the Acting Director of Personnel Management (DPM) of the council, expressed their readiness to discharge their responsibilities to the best of their abilities.
