Court grants estranged husband access to children

Justice Angela Otaluka  of  an FCT High Court, Apo on Tuesday ordered that a petitioner, Dr  Ben Onoja, can see his children every first and third Sundays of every month from  4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Delivering ruling, Otaluka held that Dr Onoja, was not permitted to take the children outside their environment or visit them in company of his girlfriend

She said that the order, was until the case has been determined.

The judge adjourned the matter until Oct.9 for continuation of hearing.

NAN reports that Ben, a medical practitioner had told the court that his estranged wife Kate denied him access to their three children.

He prayed for the dissolution of his 11-year old marriage to Kate.

The petitioner told the court that his marriage had broken down irretrievable.

He also told the court that his wife deserted the marriage on several occasions before she finally  packed out in February, 2016.

Ben, who is 40-year-old, told the court that Onoja was 47-years-old.

He told the court that age was not the reason for the dissolution of the marriage.

Onoja, who lives on Plot 3, No. 36, `B’ close Gwarinpa in her response, said that she still loved her husband and  wants to settle the matter amicably.

She also said that she will appreciate it if he notified her before coming to visit children.
