Court jails 29-year-old man 2 months for house breaking

) A Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin on Monday sentenced one Abdulganiyu Abdulrazaq, 29, of Oke-Aja, Omu-Aran in Kwara to two months in Oke-kura prison for house breaking.

The Magistrate, Mrs Omolara Idiagbon sentenced the convict on a three count charge of criminal conspiracy, house breaking and theft.

The prosecutor, Insp. Sani Abdullahi had told the court that on June 22, the case was reported to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) by one Sayo Akande, of Orelope Street, Odota area, Ilorin.

Abdullahi said that the convict, a tree cutter and one Wasiu of Geri-Alimi area, Ilorin, now at large, conspired and committed the offence.

He said that investigation conducted by the Intelligence and Investigation Department of NSCDC, revealed that the convict burgle into the complainant’s house, by bending the burglary proof of the entrance.

The prosecutor said that the convict attempted to steal a Bajaj motorcycle, with registration number: OYO RSD 563 QC, but was caught and arrested in the process.

He said that during interrogation, the convict confessed to the offence, which contravened the provision of Sections 96, 347 and 288 of the Penal Code law.

The convict had pleaded guilty to the offence.
