A Sharia Court ll sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna, on Wednesday ordered the arrest of one Tajudeen Chairman over alleged breach of trust and cheating.

The judge, Musa Sa’ad-Goma, gave the arrest order, following absence of the defendant to appear in court.

“He has been issued summon letter, which he signed, his refusal to appear is a disrespect and contempt to the court,’’ Sa’ad-Goma said.

The judge said that the offences contravened Section 300 of the Kaduna State Sharia Penal Code.

He ordered that the defendant be arrested and brought to court on May 13.

Earlier, the complainant, Alhassan Isah, 46, of Kinkinau, Kaduna, told the court that Tajudeen is the Manager of his brother’s car sales company located at Nnamdi Azikiwe express by-pass, Kaduna.

“I gave him my Golf 4 car worth N500,000 for sale and demanded a Pontiac car which he said cost N950,000.

“I gave him N450,000 and he brought the Pontiac car to me and I gave additional N10,000 to him for his commission.

“I planned to travel to Zaria to visit a sick person; Tajudeen insisted he will drive the car.

“On our way, we had a stopover at a fuelling station to buy fuel; he insisted we must top-up engine oil.

“When we return from Zaria, after some days, a politician from Katsina demanded to buy two cars from him, I offered the Pontiac he sold to me for sale.

“Upon inspecting the car, the politician’s mechanic discovers that the car was faulty and it consumes excess engine oil.

“The mechanic said it would cost N40,000 to fix the fault, I don’t want the car again,’’ Isah told the court.
