An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a motorcycle rider, Afeez Olaitan, 23, in Kirikiri Prisons over alleged armed robbery.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fajana ordered Olaitan’s remanded due to the gravity of the offences he allegedly committed.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Patrick Ebri, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 20 on AIT Road, Alagbado.
Ebri alleged that Olaitan, conspired with others at large to rob one Mr Sunday Adeyemi of a Tecno Spark valued at N15, 000 and a sum of N2, 000.
He alleged that Olaitan also assaulted Adeyemi by using a stone to inflict a deep cut on his head.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 411, 173, 168 and 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
NAN reports that the court did not take the plea of Olaitan as the magistrate said she needed advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She ordered that the case file should be sent to the DPP.
The magistrate adjourned the case until Sept. 27 for mention.
