The Chief Imam of Ife land, Alhaji AbdulSemiu AbdulHammed, has charged Nigerians to put their trust in Almighty Allah and continue with fervent prayers for total eradication of Coronavirus.
AbdulHammed gave the charge during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria , on Tuesday, in Ile-Ife.
He recalled that diseases such as Small Pox, Lassa fever, Ebola, had surfaced years back and infected many, but with the power of Allah, they have become history today.
“Problem cannot enter into a city without the consent of God, so everything that is happening now, God knows about it.
“And if we diligently seek the face of the Lord, and pray diligently, He will surely hearken to our voice and make a way out for us,’’ the chief Imam said.
The cleric also admonished Nigerians to abide by the rules and regulations on COVID-19 prevention, such as the use of face mask, washing of hands with soap, using sanitizer, staying at home and social distancing, among others.
He said that though COVID-19 pandemic did not allow Muslims to observe congregational prayer to mark Eid-el-Fitri, the pandemic is for a while and not forever.
AbdulHammed urged Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan in their every day life, so as to remain closer to Allah.
