DEPOWA trains members on finance management

The Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) has concluded a two-day training programme for wives of military officers on personal finance management.

During the closing of the ceremony on Wednesday, the President of DEPOWA, Omobolanle Olonisakin, disclosed that the training was organised in conjunction with Maxima Systems and Services Limited.

Omobolanle, who is the wife of the Chief of Defense Staff, said the training was aimed at equipping the participants on how to plan and use money allocated to them wisely.

According to her, the workshop was also aimed at teaching them to live within their means and avoiding taking unnecessary debts.

“A budget tells you how your income is allocated each month and enables you to find areas to cut back.

“Therefore, to become financially successful, we need to plan and use money wisely.

“As we are all aware, when we talk about finance and management, women are more likely to manage their finances better than men,” she said.
