Development: Nasarawa council boss harps on executive, legislature relationship

Mr Saidu Kurki, the Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council, Nasarawa State, has said that cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of any government helps to fast tracs development.

Kurki told the Nigeria News Agency in Kokona on Tuesday that a robust relationship between the three tiers of government, Judiciary inclusive, was a needed tonic in deepening and delivering dividends of democracy.

He therefore pledged his readiness to maintain a good working relationship with the council’s legislative arm to bring about speedy development and ensure peace in the area and state at large.

The chairman attributed the peace and infrastructural development being experienced in his area to the existing cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the council.

“No council or nation will experience development, especially when the executive and the legislative arm are in rancour.

“My relationship with the legislative arm and other staff is cordial, hence the achievements recorded in this council.

“It is in view of this that I want to reiterate my administration’s continuous commitment to maintain a cordial relationship with the legislative arm in the interest of peace and development,” he said.

Kurki further said his administration would initiate more development projects that would have direct impact on the lives of the people of the area and the state at large.

He solicited for the support of all and sundry to enable him succeed in the task ahead of him.

He also enjoined the people of the area to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
