A driver, Kennedy Akugua, who allegedly failed to remit N1.4 million for car hire, on Thursday appeared in a Kabusa Grade I Area Court.
Akugua, of Nigeria Labour Congress office area III Garki, FCT is charged with criminal breach of trust, cheating, defamation of character and criminal intimidation.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mahmud Lawal, told the court that Ms Queen Omonefe, who resides at No.3 Ngwa Street Garki, Abuja reported the case at the Durumi Police station, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Aug. 1.
Lawal alleged that the defendant collected a car from Omonefe on hire purchase in 2015 and refused to remit N1.4 million.
He alleged that when Omonefe demanded for her money, the defendant called her a witch, a prostitute and threatened to deal with her.
He said that during police investigation, the defendant confessed to the crime.
The offence, he said contravened the provisions of sections 312,322,392 and 397 of the Penal Code Law.
The defendant however he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Ibrahim Kagarko, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N1 million wit one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 4 for hearing
