Lagos, April 22, 2019 The Catholic Youths Organisation of Nigeria (CYON) of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Alagbado, near Lagos,  on Monday  organised free medical screenings to for no fewer than 100 parents.

The organisation also organised funfair for children of the parish as part of activities to mark the 2019 Easter.

Dr  Theresa Ajite,  a medical doctor and a parishioner, assisted by other medical personnel,  conducted  the  screening.

Olewuezi said that the screening had helped  the beneficiaries to know their medical status and how they could give immediate attention to medical  issues affecting them.

The cleric added that  having  family funfair in the church was an opportunity for families to enjoy the Galilee celebration.

The CYON president, Mr Olatunji Makinde, said that the funfair was organised to give families an opportunity to relax within their immediate environment.

Makinde said that most time, parents would have  wished  to take their children out to picnics or  the amusement parks for relaxation.

He said they were not able to fulfill such promises due to other engagements.

He said that the occasion had afforded the parents to have medical screening and relax with their children.

”The free medical screening  is to appreciate our parents who have been very supportive of CYON’s activities in  the past.

”The free medical  included  eye test, dental care and  others,” he said.

NNN also  reports that the funfair comprised of face painting, bouncing castle, video games and lots more.
