The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has deployed 956 regular and special marshals across Kano State to control vehicular traffic during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.
A statement issued by the state Sector Commander, Mr Zaubair Mato, said that the corps had also released 14 patrol vehicles, two ambulances and one heavy duty truck for special operations from Aug. 9 to Aug. 15.
It added that the corps had deployed standby teams for emergency rescue services and a heavy duty towing vehicle for prompt removal of obstructions during the period.
The FRSC warned that traffic offences such as overloading, over speeding, route violations, lack of driver’s license, driving under drug influence, under- aged driving as well as use of expired tyres and mobile phones would be sanctioned.
While wishing the public crash free Sallah celebrations, the corps advised motorists and other road users to ensure strict obedience of traffic regulations.
