Ekiti Bet9ja Football League: 75 of 90 matches played so far — Head Coach

Seventy-five of the 90 matches in the ongoing Ekiti bet9ja Football League have been played so far since the beginning of the competition on Aug. 6, the Head Coach, Ekiti Football Association (FA), Kehinde Anjorin, has said.

Anjorin, who made the disclosure on Thursday during an interview with the Nigeria News Agency in Ado-Ekiti, commended the conduct of players, officials, club owners and other stakeholders in the competition.

He, however, said there were occasional cases of indiscipline on the part of some players, but added that such undisciplined players had been handed the necessary disciplinary actions.

“I commend the conduct of all stakeholders so far in the ongoing maiden Ekiti Bet9ja Football League since the competition began.

“Although we have cases of players who displayed some elements of indiscipline and those found guilty have been handed bans.

“Some of these undisciplined players were banned for two to three matches, but right now we are on top of the situation,” the coach said.

On the security situation at matches venue, Anjorin thanked the cooperation of the Peace Corps, Ekiti Command.

He said, “We partnered with the Peace Corps on provision of security at match venues and at least 10 personnel are always available on match days at each venue across the state.”

Anjorin, however, disclosed that in the next two weeks, the Round of 16 and quarter-finals of the competition would be completed and the last four clubs that emerge would battle for the trophy in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
