Former UNN VC tasks Christians on thanksgiving, fulfilment of vows

A former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof.  Chinedu Nebo, on Sunday advised Christians to redeem vows and cultivate the attitude of thanksgiving to God to attract more blessings.

Nebo, an Archdeacon in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Resurrection  Camp, Enugu, also said that sacrifices to God would provoke His protection and mercy.

Nebo preached a sermon on Sunday  in the church.

“Do not wait for calamity to befall you before you come to give thanks to the Almighty God, rather always give thanks to God by making sacrifices.

“Try to offer to God sacrifices that will cost you something,” he said.

He added that offering sacrifices  and fulfilment of vows to God would help to expand His work.

The cleric, who took his sermon from Psalm 50, verses 14 and 15, said that thanksgiving  and fulfilment of vows pleased God.

According to the former vice chancellor,  when a Christian genuinely brings sacrifices and fulfills his or her vows to God, the Almighty would deliver the Christian in the day of trouble. (NAN)
