FRSC tasks 16 newly-promoted officers, marshals on saving lives on hinterland highways



The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Pankshin Unit Command, Plateau, on Wednesday tasked 16 newly-promoted officers and Special Marshals of the unit on saving lives on hinterland highways.

Decorating the promoted officers and Marshals, ACC Nnamdi Ike-Akabogu, Pankshin FRSC Unit Commander, also urged them to be apt, dedicated and prudent in the discharge of their duties.

Ike-Akabogu explained that their promotions came with higher responsibilities which demanded their commitment loyalty and prompt delivery for the upliftment of the Corps.

“You are aware that the sole duties of the Corps is the effective control of road traffic and saving of lives on our highways.

“These must be done with a high sense of responsibility especially in the hinterlands where we operate.

“As newly-decorated Officers and Marshals, you should continue to be diligent and forward looking in the discharge of your duties.

“After all, to whom much is given, much is expected, so you must not fail the corps, ” he charged.

According to the Unit Commander, in as much as we believed that promotion comes from God, the Almighty clearly stated that there is no food for a lazy man, as such your promotion is as a result of our hard work, therefore you should not relent.

Ike-Akabogu, commended the newly-promoted officers, while calling on other officers to do more in the discharge of their duties in order to be promoted as well.

Nigeria News Agency reports that the unit commander then, announced the completion of a newly-constructed lecture hall.

He said that the 100 seating capacity hall of the unit in Pankshin would be commissioned on Feb. 22 by the Plateau State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Latep Dabang.
