FRSC to partner NGO on  citizens’  responsibilities awareness campaign

Abuja, April 24, 2019 The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)  Research and Statistics Department says it is ready to collaborate with Project One Production (POP) an Abuja-based NGO, in creating awareness to boost citizens awareness on roles, duties and responsibilities.

Mr Kayode Fanola, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Head Policy, Research and Statistic Department, FRSC,  said this in a statement in Abuja.

Fanola said  that the corps marshal would graciously collaborate with the organisation on its “I-AM-A-NIGERIAN” conference scheduled to hold in May.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that the I-AM-A-NIGERIAN conference is organised annually by Project One to instill leadership and political values appropriate for national development in youths through political education, citizenship appreciation, and scholastic awards.

“We commend Project One for its forthrightness and patriotic endeavour aimed at national development through youths empowerment.

“The right set values, self-reliance, integrity and patriotism are fundamental to building a better nation.

“The corps is therefore deploying officers and logistics to the event through its FCT sector command for this noble assignment,” he said.

Mrs Busayo Busari, Executive Director of the organisation in an interview with NNN, expressed optimism that the collaboration for the conference would be a game changing event for the organisation.

Busari said that the collaboration from the FRSC to deploy officers and provide logistics to enable a successful conference,  proved that nation building, peace and unity could not be left to government or NGOs alone.

“We believe that joining hands to build the Nigeria of our dream and equipping young Nigerians with the knowledge and skills required for nation building is achievable through right collaborations and partnerships.

“And once the right set values, self-reliance, integrity and patriotism which are fundamental to building a better nation are instilled in the minds of the youths, our country will  be a better place to live and raise families,” she said.

Busari noted that the year’s conference is a Three-Day program that would deliver a rich array of speakers from diverse professional sectors, entrepreneurial training and empowerment projects to helping  youths to be intentional in building their future.

She said that the conference would recognise patriotic citizens like the National Flag designer and offer unprecedented opportunities, award scholarships and address some of the challenges in the Nigerian educational system.

“The conference will beam the Light on the Nigerian Child and also train and empower youths which will  further illuminate the future of the Nigerian workforce,” she said.

According to her, the conference over the past two years has transformed many aspects of the lives of Nigerian youths, preparing them for leadership positions in the future.

The executive director, expressed optimism that the three-day conference would be interactive and impactful.

She said that the opening ceremony would be a launching of baby Packages for children; the second day would be centered on entrepreneurship, trainings and awarding of scholarships, while the last day would be a Nigerian street health walk.
