Elections

Jos, Feb 10, 2019 (NAN)  The Jos Resident Pastor of Shepherd House International Assembly, Rev. Tajan Moltok, on Sunday urged Nigerians to be of good conduct during and after the elections, to avoid acts capable of undermining a peaceful electoral process.

The cleric made the appeal during a special prayer session toward peaceful general elections.

In his sermon entitled `Anointing to take over’, Moltok prayed against persons who would want to cause mayhem during elections but admonished the electorate to eschew violence.

“ I pray for Nigeria, as we conduct elections on Feb. 16, that no evil would befall us.

“The elections would be without casualties and all the security agencies and workers of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would discharge their duties without harm.

“Many people are living in fear of the envisaged aftermath of the forthcoming elections, but I pray that God would show mercy to Nigeria and help her conduct credible and fair elections,’’ he said.

Moltok further prayed God to expose the plans of those who might want to foment troubles during the exercise.

According to him, being swift is not the criteria for success but the anointing of God which terminates yokes and facilitates open gates for blessings.

“Children of God must live purposeful life and their hearts must be right with God to be in the place of authority, in order to fulfil their various assignments.

“ The anointing of God propels supernatural kingdom wealth for his children to be empowered; it facilitates supernatural announcement and the ability to take over in all facets of life.”

The cleric, however, advised all eligible voters to get their Permanent Voters card (PVCs) with which they would use to vote their choice candidates.

He stressed the need for eligible voters to participate actively in the electioneering process, noting that it was their responsibility to ensure good governance by voting credible leaders (NAN)
