Gov. Bello inaugurates 2,500 capacity multi-purpose NYSC hall

Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger has inaugurated a 2,500 capacity multi-purpose lecture hall built by the state government at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Paiko Local Government Area of the state.

He said that the hall would serve as a befitting training and lecture hall for corps members during their orientation.

The Nigeria News Agency report that the hall was inaugurated shortly after the passing out ceremony of Batch ‘B’ stream II corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Paiko on Monday.

Bello, who was represented by Alhaji Ahmed Matane, Secretary to the State Government, commended the NYSC management for the successful three weeks orientation course, adding that government was committed to welfare of corps members.

He said that government was putting in efforts to provide conducive camp facilities for the comfort of corps members posted to the state.

The governor appealed to the corps members to be dedicated and support the state towards improving lives of the people in education, healthcare, agriculture, environmental sanitation and HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.

He assured the corps members of provision of adequate security and welfare in their places of primary assignments.

Earlier, Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi, NYSC Coordinator in Niger, commended the corps members for their level of discipline, maturity and dedication during the orientation course.

She explained that the skills acquisition training the corps members had been exposed to would equip them mentally and physically to face the challenges during and after their service year and make them self-reliance.

Ajayi appealed to the corps members to be patriotic, adding that the one year period of service calls for sacrifice. (NAN)
