Gov. Ishaku not relenting on security of Taraba- Commissioner

Taraba Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Mr Danjuma Adamu, says Gov. Darius Ishaku is not relenting in providing security for the people of the state.

Adamu made the statement while addressing newsmen in Jalingo on Wednesday.

He said contrary to the “campaign of calumny” against the governor accusing him of failing to protect the people of Southern Taraba, Ishaku’s  administration had been working tirelessly for the peace of the area and the state.

He said a media report authored by some faceless groups was aimed at undermining the good efforts of the governor who had been working tirelessly to maintain peace and enhance development in the state.

He said the report entitled; ‘The rise of Tiv Hooliganism in Southern Taraba and Governor Darius Leadership Failure,’ was nothing

but a campaign being prosecuted by a desperate group targeting the governor’s rising political profile.

The commissioner explained that since assumption of office in 2015, Ishaku and his Benue  counterpart,  Samuel Ortom, had been meeting and various committees put in place to find lasting solution to the  crisis.

” Ishaku never relents in his efforts to bring the crisis  to an end and through his efforts, hostilities ceased in September, 2019.

“The faceless writer accused the governor of destroying the state and taking actions against the traditional institutions by failing to name the new Gara of Donga.

“The oath of office the governor swore to was not as a Jukun governor, but the governor of Taraba state to promote peace, progress, harmonious co-existence and cultural upliftment of the people of Taraba as a whole,”he said.
