Gov. Umara inaugurates committee to allocate 3000 housing units




The Borno Government on Thursday inaugurated a 15-man Owner Occupier Committee, to allocate 3000 housing units to civil servants in the state.
Gov. Babagana Umara, disclosed this during the inauguration at the council chambers of the Government House in Maiduguri.

Alhaji Usman-Ngulde emerged as Chairman, while Alhaji Mustapha Ali-Kori, General Manager Maiduguri Housing Cooperation, was made Secretary of the committee.

The governor said  it was the desire of government to provide shelter for its citizens particularly civil servants to address their housing challenges.

Umara charged the committee members to be God fearing in discharging their responsibility, stressing that civil servants must not be shortchanged.

He said that about 3000 houses would be sold,  except Zannah Umar Mustapha Legacy Housing and Central Bank of Nigeria, quarters procured by the government.

Earlier speaking, Alhaji Mahdi Garzali, Acting Secretary to the State Government, expressed gratitude to the governor for taking positive decisions aimed at alleviating accommodation challenges of  civil servants in the state.
