The total number of cases in the country now stands at 2,878, and the death toll, at 171. Currently, 19 people are being treated in intensive care units.

On Monday, the country will enter the fourth phase of the government’s plan to lift COVID-19 restrictive measures. Restaurants, cafes, and bars can reopen, while traveling to and from all Greek islands is permitted following stringent health protocols.

“The epidemiological data is good so far and the recommendations are followed,” Nikos Hardalias, deputy minister for Civil Protection and Crises Management at the Ministry of Citizen Protection, said during a press briefing.

Greece was under lockdown from March 23 as part of measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Since May 4, the government has started gradually lifting the restrictions.
