Ezemonye spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria after a training programme by CISCO in the Computer Science Auditorium of Igbinedion University Okada on Wednesday.
CISCO is an American multinational technology conglomerate with the headquarters in San Jose, California, in the center of Silicon Valley.
CISCO develops, manufactures and sells networking hardware, telecommunications equipment and other high-technology services and products.
“My vision is to ensure that Igbinedion University becomes one of the best smart campuses in Nigeria.
“The first choice was training staff and students understand CISCO system programmes.
“We must allow our students to excel in knowledge and smart dealings.
“With the adventure and introduction of smart campus and ICT programmes, our students are prepared for the future,” he said.
He said that the university prepared the students with entrepreneurial skills to make them innovative and creative.
Mrs Deborah Odejimi, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of IUO said that the programme cuts across all students of the university.
She said that ICT was now the in-thing for all students not just computer students, adding that “ICT is needed in all aspects of life”.
