Alhaji Tukur Makama, Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Environment, gave the advice during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for workplace and markets on Friday.
He stressed the need for companies to have an effective treatment plants for proper disposal of their industrial waste.
According to him, it is the responsibility of business owners to take care of their immediate community where they operates.
The Permanent Secretary lauded the mode operation of some companies visited for the exercise, urging them to sustain the tempo.
