The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Mr Yakubu Danladi, says the legislature is not interfering with the administration of the 16 local government councils of the state.
Danladi said this is a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Sherif lbrahim, on Monday in Ilorin.
He described the speculations of undue interefence as a calculated attempt to tarnish the image and integrity of the ninth Assembly.
Danladi also denied insinuation that members were in charge of the councils revenue, describing it as baseless, irrational and unfathomable.
He said that the legislative arm of government was in tune with extension of the suspension of the l16 local government chairmen by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
He said that the legislature was convinced to have acted ideally over the local government chairmen’s tenure, alleged fraud and considered the extension of their suspension by the executive arm of government.
The speaker said that investigations into the allegations against them are yet to be concluded by the anti graft agency.
