Alhaji Abdulrahman Maigoro,the Executive Chairman, Keffi Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, has promised to provide better healthcare and infrastructural facilities to rural communities in the area.
This is contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Shuaibu Muhammad, a copy of which was made available to the Nigeria News Agency in Keffi on Thursday.
Maigoro said the strategy would create job opportunities and improve on the lives of the people.
He emphasised that his desire was to better the health status and standard of living of people of the area.
The chairman said that the council has approved drilling of a borehole at the Local Government Guest House and other water projects to deliver water supply to the people.
“Human beings cannot sustain themselves without water, hence the need for the project and other projects that will have direct bearing on the lives of the people of this area,” he said.
Maigoro said: “With the view of providing the much needed dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots through initiation of projects.
“We urged the good people of Keffi LGA to remain focus and be patient as good things are on the way coming for the development of their communities.
“We will provide infrastructural faculties as well as initiate skills acquisition programmes to enable our people have different skills to become self reliant.’’
According to him, the committee also approved repair of abandoned vehicles in the council to facilitate effective service delivery.
He commended the legislative arm and other workers of the council for giving him maximum support and cooperation to succeed.
He also urged Nigerians to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations for the overall development of the country.
