Man, 20, docked for allegedly stealing motorcycle

A 20-year-old man, Jeremiah Anu, was on Tuesday brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a motorcycle, valued at N106,000.

Anu, whose address is not provided, faces a charge of stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP. Akpan Ikem, told court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 27, 2018 at Badagry Grammar School in Badagry.

Ikem said that Anu stole an unregistered Suzuki motorcycle, belonging to one Idowu Akodegbe.

The prosecutor said the offence contravene Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaya, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Adekomaya ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of payment of tax to the Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case until July 17 for mention.
