Man, 23, docked for allegedly stealing ‘I better pass my neighbour’ generator

A 23-year-old man, Segun Adesanya, was on Monday docked before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a “Tiger’’ generator, worth N9, 000.

The accused, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of burglary and stealing a ‘Tiger’ generator popularly called ‘I better pass my neighbour’.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Adejoke Adebari, had told the court that the defendant sometimes in February 2018 at about 5:30 a.m. entered the Itoko, Abeokuta residence of one Habeebulah Adam and stole a Tiger generator, valued N9,000.

The prosecutor said that the offences committed contravened Sections 390(9) and 412 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun, 2006.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mrs Sam Obaleye, granted the defendant N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until March 8 for trial. (NNN)
