An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Friday remanded a 52-year-old man, Gbenga Adebowale, in prison for allegedly stealing a vehicles worth N5.5 million.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 11, 2018 at about 9.00p.m p.m at Oke-Odo area, Ilode, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the defendant conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit: stealing.
He said that the defendant stole a Toyota Bus with Reg. No: FKJ 402 XR valued at N5 million.
According to him, the defendant also stole one Nissan Primera Car with Reg No: KJA 758 CN valued at N565, 000 property of Abdulrazak Salaudeen.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 390 (9), (10A) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Adebowale, however, pleaded not guilty to the three count charges bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The defence counsel, Mr Kanmi Adeyeba, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in most liberal term.
The Magistrate, Olukunle Owolawi, refused to grant the defendant bail and ordered that he should be remanded in Ile-Ife Prison.
Owolawi adjourned the case until March 13 for ruling on bail.
