Man prays court to reduce monthly upkeep allowance to estranged wife

A Naval officer, Abara Julius, on Thursday prayed a Customary Court in Nyanya, to reduce the N20,000 monthly for the upkeep of the only child between him and his estranged wife, Abara Queen.

Julius, who resides in Mogadishu Barracks, pleaded with the judge, Jemilu Jega,saying:”reduce the fee. I will not have any money left to care for my needs after N20,000 is removed from my salary.

”I borrowed N600, 000 from my office for my wedding two years ago. I am still owing my office.

”I have three more years to finish paying the debt. My salary is N58, 000 only. Please Sir temper justice with mercy.’;

Justice Jega, in his ruling agreed and ordered Julius to pay N17, 000 monthly instead.

He also ordered him to take responsibility for the only child’s medicals and education
