The Commissioner of Police in Jigawa, Mr Bala Senchi, says the restriction of movements during elections starts from the midnight of Friday, except those on essential duties.

“The Jigawa State Police Command has observed with dismay the rampant movement of people in the state during the last Presidential and National Assembly elections, despite the announcement of restriction of such movements by the command.

“Indeed, the movements are seen as threats and capable of putting the electoral process in jeopardy,’’ he said in a statement.

Senchi, therefore, advised people to abide by the order and avoid any act capable of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the elections.

“We call on the entire people of Jigawa State to strictly abide by the rules and regulations governing elections to ensure peaceful conduct throughout the state,’’ he said.
