Dr Mohammad Abubakar, Minister of Environment on Thursday in Abuja urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for enhanced welfare and good governance.
Abubakar, who made the call when the Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) visited him, said that the support of the citizenry was critical to the success of the administration.
The minister commended the forum for its contribution towards Buhari’s victory in the 2019 elections.
“BSO is the president’s family, it will continue to be our family, we need to all support him to realize his dream of providing for the poor.
“The president is passionate about the life of the poor, he goes to any length to ensure justice, and that what belongs to the people is given to the people,” he said.
According to Abubakar, Buhari’s life as a military officer and public servant revolves around the ordinary people.
The minister urged the forum to make meaningful inputs that would enable the current administration to achieve set objectives.
He said that the BSO should foster effective working relationship with the government, saying, “this will enable us achieve set goals”.
Hajia Hannatu Akilu, BSO’s National Administrative Secretary, expressed the willingness of the group to support the Buhari-led administration in delivering on its mandate.
“Part of our mandate as a group is to protect the environment, we are willing to make key inputs to support your work in the environment ministry.
“We cannot play roles for the president to win elections and not be available to support him in discharging the duties that go with office,” she said.
She said that good governance was a cardinal principle of the organisation, adding, “we shall work with the current administration to achieve this.”
