My reelection will attract more dividends of democracy — Lawmaker

A Federal lawmaker, Mr Johnson Oghuma, has said that his re-election to the House of Representatives, would boost his resolve to attract more dividends of democracy to his constituents.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NNN) reports that Oghuma, who represents the Etsako Federal Constituency, stated this while answering questions from newsmen in Benin on Friday.

He was one of the four-members of the House of Representatives, elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, in the recently-concluded National Assembly (NASS) elections.

Oghuma had defeated the PDP candidate, Blessing Agbomhere, with a wide margin, to get re-elected.

The lawmaker, who described his victory as divine, also thanked his constituents for finding him worthy for a second term.

He assured that he would work relentlessly to ensure that he consolidated on his achievements in the 9th Assembly.

“First of all, I am most grateful to the leadership of our party and our father, Adams Oshiomhole, for finding me worthy to once again fly our great party’s flag at the election.

“My victory at the poll is a victory for Etsako people, irrespective of party affiliation. I urge all our people to join hands with me to continue in the struggle to bring more development to Etsako land.

He assured that his pursuit of a bill at the NASS to upgrade the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, to a degree-awarding University of Technology  would be sustained. (NNN)
