Doma (Nasarawa State), April 24, 2019 The Andoma of Doma in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu-Ogah, has donated a 505 Peugeot car to the members of the area’s vigilante group to assist their efforts to combat crime.
Aliyu-Ogah, while donating the vehicle to the group on Wednesday in Doma, urged the members to redouble their efforts toward protecting lives and property.
The first class traditional ruler, who was represented by an aide, Mr John Ogah, said that the donation was part of his contribution to the efforts to protect the people.
He called for collaboration among stakeholders in the struggle to rid the society of dubious elements, pointing out that security was crucial to the growth of any society.
The monarch called on the people of the area to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of political, religious and ethnic differences.
Responding, Mr Abdullahi Jibrin, leader of the group, thanked the royal father for the donation and assured him that the vehicle would be used for the purpose for which it was donated.
He promised that the members would do everything possible to rid the area of criminals, saying that the vehicle would boost their morale and solve their major problem – mobility.
