The Nigeria News Agency , reports that three policemen and two civilians were killed in the attack that took place around Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.
Preliminary security reports say that the attackers were armed robbers.
Sanda, who reacted to the incident in an interview with NAN on Saturday in Keffi, said that the incident was “chilling”.
“My prayer is that the families of those who lost their lives will have the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Given what has happened, I have also warned corps members and will be repeating the warning before the orientation ends, that incessant travelling will not be allowed.
“On behalf of NYSC staff and corps members in the state, we extend our sympathies to the state government and the Police Command in the state,” she said.
Sanda urged the state government to collaborate with security agencies to nab the perpetrators and also ensure regular patrols of the state to ensure safety.
NAN reports that the NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, who attended the opening ceremony of the 2019 Batch B Stream II orientation in the state on Thursday, met with the Deputy Governor and offered his sympathies.
