Normalcy returns after PDP, APC supporters clash in Kano State

The Police Command in Kano State says normalcy has returned to Kofa village in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, following a clash between supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the village on Thursday.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who commented on the incident, said security personnel had been deployed to the area and that the situation had since been brought under control

Haruna, however, said the command had yet to get details of the clash.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NNN) reports that no fewer than 10 persons were injured during the Incident.

Eye witness told NNN in Kano on Thursday that the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m.

According to the witness, the incident occurred when Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso was passing through the village en route Bebeji town.

It was gathered that trouble started when the PDP supporters who were traveling in their campaign vehicles met some APC supporters that organised prayer session for peaceful election in the village.

It was also gathered that no fewer than 15 vehicles belonging to the PDP were destroyed during the fracas.

NNN reports that was the quick intervention of the security personnel that were drafted to the area that saved the situation from degenerating into a serious political crisis.(NNN).
